La arquitectura como parte de un contexto

For part of his stay here, I worked with Antoni directly. He was carrying out some design studies related to the development of new academic facilities within our building, and also doing some research related to comtemporary architecture in Europe and North America. I found Antoni to be quick to grasp and work with the central ideas and qualities in an architectural design study. His sketching of possible strategies was excellent and his development of these strategies into more detailed options was of significant benefit to this Faculty.

We got to know him as a very creative, intelligent and cultivated young architect who through his interest in the arts, music and literature manages to understand the architectural discipline as a part of a large cultural context. His knowledge about architectural theory and history enables him to work with a kind of awareness quite rare among architects. Working on his own on a small transformation project, Antoni showed his capacity of working independently with great perseverence while at the same time he was a very helpful collaborator and an inspiring person to talk with in a project team.
